Priorities
Education
Everyone deserves quality, well funded public education - pre-K through college. Without a quality education, people cannot succeed. And without a quality education system, a community cannot succeed. The future of Colorado depends on properly investing in our schools and our teachers.
Healthcare
Everyone deserves quality, affordable healthcare. With the cuts to public health and Medicaid, it is more important than ever for us to invest in healthcare. People should not be forced to choose between eating and going to the doctor, or paying rent and getting the medications they need to survive.
Infrastructure
If we expect to be a place where people want to live and where businesses can thrive, we must invest in our infrastructure. We have to do a better job of maintaining what we have and building for the future.
Affordability
Prices are too high for everything! Everyone, except those at the very top, are struggling to pay for even the basics. We need to do more to combat high prices, especially for housing. The cost of homes and rent continue to skyrocket, and Colorado has now become a place that people cannot afford to live. Colorado cannot just be for the rich, it has to be for everyone!
Workforce
There has always been a focus on business and corporations, but we need to focus more on workers. It is a false choice to think we have to pick one over the other, we can do both. People deserve a living wage and better protections. They deserve to work in safe conditions and be treated fairly. Workers are not disposable commodities, they are human beings! When workers are treated well, business does better. That is why we need to fight for more protections for workers and support for unions.
